DIFRC Creates Tip Sheet for Service Providers and American Indian/Alaska Native Families

The “Keeping Your Family Strong and the Circle Whole” tip sheet is designed to inform, educate, and engage service providers and families in conversations about what the Strengthening Families Protective Factors look like in urban American Indian/Alaska Native families. Denver Indian Family Resource Center hosted a series of focus groups in 2015 and 2016 between youth, parents/caregivers, elders, and DIFRC staff to create this tool. Combined, over 1,600 years of wisdom and experience from ages 8 to 84 were incorporated into this document.

If you use this tip sheet in your work, with families you work with, or with your own families, we’d love to hear from you! Please let us know how you’re using this tool by sending an email to DIFRC’s Project Supervisor, Sarah Nelson, at snelson@difrc.org.
