Job Announcement: Staff Assistant

Position: Staff Assistant
Status: Full-time
Reports to: DIFRC Office Administrator
Salary and Benefits: $30,000-40,000 Annual Per Year. Includes generous health insurance, vision, dental, life insurance, short-term disability, and paid time off
Location: Onsite in Denver, Colorado
Overview: The Denver Indian Family Resource Center (DIFRC) is seeking a qualified individual as a Staff Assistant. The Staff Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting DIFRC’s daily operations, working closely with the Office Administrator as well as other staff as needed. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, proactive and possesses excellent communication skills.

Primary Duties:

  • Provide administrative support to DIFRC staff as directed by the Office Administrator.
  • Assist with planning and executing DIFRC events
  • Handles office supplies and equipment, ensuring proper inventory levels
  • Performs general clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, faxing and filing
  • Handles the maintenance of the DIFRC van: ensure it has gas and is scheduled for periodic maintenance and service
  • Maintaints confidentiality in all aspects of client interaction, staff and agency information.
  • Supports staff in managing DIFRC office space, including cleaning storage, maintenance and organizing
  • Prepares supply orders as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to use computer, computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook Team Applications
  • Strong verbal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including but not limited to: computer, telephone system, typewriter, calculator, copier and facsimile machines
  • Familiarty with American Indian and Alaska Native populations or willingness to learn,
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipates needed supplies; prepares supply orders for Office Administrator; verifying receipt of supplies purchased.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven experience as a Staff Assistant and knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Must have working knowledge of office equipment such as printers, scanner and copy machines. Excellent time management skills and the ability to oprioritize work and mindfulness and critical thinking skills as well as strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask. High School diploma or GED.
